Holy shite, this is ska-core gallore! I do love my ska, i do love the Mighty Mighty BossTones (and you could call them “genre defying” to an extend) but this came from left-field.
From Keighley, a town and civil parish within the metropolitan borough of the City of Bradford in West Yorkshire, England comes Random Hand and they are a true contender for throwing an energetic and loud dancing party! Formed in 2002 and with 4 1/2 Albums and a grand live album under the belt they not only tour but also output to the max. Get to see them when you can, it is worth it!
The verdict:
1977 – ok, tricky. SKA was part of the initial revolution but the added speed and metalic sounds not – i’d say “1977 2.0”
published by a cool lable – Riot Music, tick!
found in a cool shop – Burnout Hamburg, tick!
catching sound – this is a monster of a sound, has it all incl. cool trombone and sing-a-long chorus! Perfect!
The lyrics – about themselves and with tongue-in-check plus unique sing-a-long chorus!

In 2010 it was re-released by Bomber Records/Our Music with a much better artwork and with the added bonus of the “On the march” EP:

The recording itself is already a mighty beast – tune up realy loud:
but live it is even better, ain’t it?
