Und in die 1960er Jahre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Und zur\u00fcck in die eigene Historie: Ross Thomas hat tats\u00e4chlich mal in den 1960ern in Nigeria als strategischer Politberater gearbeitet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hier geht es um Albertia, eine britische Kolonie. Und dort stehen die ersten freien Wahlen an, die englische Krone will die Kolonie in die Unabh\u00e4ngigkeit entlassen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Einer der Kandidaten, Chief Akomoloa, heuert eine PR Agentur in London an und die schickt ihre besten: 2 Amerikaner, PR Profi Peter Upshaw und den Politstrategen Clinton Shartelle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gestopft mit Geld nehmen sie einen modernen Wahlkampf in einem Land auf, wo die zuk\u00fcnftige Elite modern ist und der Rest des Landes &#8230; Kolonie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ross Thomas lullt den Leser dabei perfekt ein, gro\u00dfartige R\u00e4nke werden geschmiedet, die politischen Gegner von Chief Akomolo werden gekonnt in die Irre gef\u00fchrt und es bleibt auch noch Zeit f\u00fcr eine gro\u00dfe Liebe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ach ja, Kollateralsch\u00e4den hat der Wahlkampf auch &#8211; sonst w\u00e4re es ja kein Ross Thomas Krimi. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ross Thomas ist schon ein cooler Geschichtenerz\u00e4hler und diese hier ist eine perfekte Parabel auf den Kolonialismus: Der wei\u00dfe Mann weis alles besser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Das Ende setzt Ross Thomas dann mit einem coolen Big B\u00e4ng. Geahnt, aber nicht gesehen!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Perfekt. Und wieder v\u00f6llig aus der Zeit gefallen (wenn auch v\u00f6llig \u00fcbertragbar auf heute &#8211; wie politische Strategen heute Wahlen dank Internet und Asozialer Medien manipulieren ist aus der gleichen Rumpelkammer).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.alexander-verlag.com\/autoren\/autor\/9-ross-thomas.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Kauf! Sie!
