Einfach nur gro\u00dfartig! Die Washington Post hat das ganz schlicht auf einen passenden Nenner gebracht:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre>\nThe Washington Post noted that Boyle \"tries to write about how bad people can do good things and good people can do bad things.\"\n<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>Und in diesem Spannungsfeld bleibt er bei vergleichsweise kleinen Geschichten. In &#8220;Shoot The Moonlight Out&#8221; treiben die konzentrischen Kreise eines Steinwurfes ins Wasser auf eine Handvoll Menschen aus dem Viertel zu und versenken vier von ihnen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Allerdings hat der Stein da schon moralischen Ballast zu tragen: Zwei gelangweilte Jungs, so 12 bis 13 Jahre alt, verbringen ihre Zeit mit allerlei Bl\u00f6dsinn am Rande einer Mall. An einer Freeway Auffahrt. Und kommen auf die coole Idee Steine auf Autos zu werfen &#8230; als sie endlich treffen treffen sie ins offene Fenster der 19 j\u00e4hrigen Amelia Cornacchia. Und die stirbt. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Was beide nicht ahnen: Der Vater von Amelia arbeitet im Viertel als Probleml\u00f6ser der einfachen Leute. Im Angebot: Endg\u00fcltige L\u00f6sungen. Er bleibt n\u00e4mlich beim Killen ganz kalt, f\u00fcr ihn ist das moralisch kein Problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fast Forward von 1996 in den Sommer 2001: Die konzentrischen Kreise des Steines treffen auf Land, die Wellen brechen und William Boyle packt ganz gro\u00dfartige Charaktere in die Story, die nat\u00fcrlich auf einen Showdown zwischen dem Vater von Amelia und &#8230; pssst! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Und neben einer spannenden  Story die auf einen H\u00f6hepunkt hinzielt bleibt William Boyle auch noch Zeit f\u00fcr gro\u00dfartige Details:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \n<!-- Start container 1 Er ist in der Lage, das Durcheinander des Lebens mit der Sch\u00e4rfe eines gnadenlosen Realisten einzufangen. Dabei formt er dieses Durcheinander so, dass die Geschichte auf einen H\u00f6hepunkt resp. Showdown zeigt der alles aufl\u00f6st. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ganz gro\u00dfes Kopfkino. Und die Menschen? Sind am Ende gl\u00fccklich:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre>\nLily kipt ihren Wiskey. Nach allem, was sie gesehen und erfahren hat, mag es falsch sein, gl\u00fccklich zu sein, aber das ist ihre egal.
