My adolescence, chock-a-block with mixtapes and hardcore punk matinees. In college, my best friend and I had a radio show that was on so late, nobody listened, but we didn&#8217;t care; we were too busy dancing around the booth like idiots. And my wife and I have road-tripped to see amazing bands play lousy venues more times than I can count.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Da f\u00fchle ich mich gleich zuhause!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Das erste Buch seiner Michael Hendricks Serie hatte ich gelesen bevor ich meinen Lesesrhythmus hier dokumentiert habe, &#8220;<em>So Was Von Tot<\/em>&#8221; ist hiermit allen nochmal ans Herz gelegt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;<em>Des Teufels Vollstrecker<\/em>&#8221; ist im englischen Original <em>Red Right Hand<\/em> und referenziert einen Song von <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=RrxePKps87k\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Nick Cave<\/a><\/em>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>You\u2019re one microscopic cog<\/em><br><em>In his catastrophic plan<\/em><br><em>Designed and directed by<\/em><br><em>His red right hand<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Und so sieht das f\u00fcr Michael auch aus. Er hatte sich mit seinem Gesch\u00e4ftsmodel &#8220;<em>Ich kille deinen Killer<\/em>&#8221; mit den falschen angelegt &#8211; der Mafia &#8211; und muss immer noch mit den Folgen k\u00e4mpfen. Im Rahmen seines Rachefeldzuges ger\u00e4t er dem Rat (sowas wie eine Kriminellen UN) wieder in die Quere, aber nicht nur diesem. Und versucht den katastrophalen Plan aufzuhalten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Das Buch hat Tempo (viel Tempo), das Buch hat Witz (viel Witz), das Buch hat H\u00e4rte (viel H\u00e4rte) und das Buch ist (war, 2016 geschrieben) mit sehr aktuellen Bez\u00fcgen: Das FBI bekommt die Ermittlungen in einem Islamistischen Terrorfall in San Francisco entzogen und wird durch eine private Sicherheitsfirma (die auch schon dem Pentagon im Irak diente) ersetzt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Erst sp\u00e4t erkennen wir, das dieses auch wieder nur durch den Rat geschieht. Um Spuren zu verwischen. Um Geld zu verdienen. Da Michael Hendricks aber clever und hart ist, kommt er diesen Dingen auf die Spur. Mit einer jungen und klugen (aber nicht harten) Assistentin, einem ehemaligen Milit\u00e4rkollegen, einer FBI Agentin und mit einem ehemaligen Mafiakiller, der eigentlich tot sein sollte, schmiedet er eine Allianz und macht sich daran zur\u00fcckzukeilen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Um am Ende als Racheengel beim Sekret\u00e4r des Rates (<em>the red right hand<\/em>) aufzutauchen. Kleiner Seitenspass f\u00fcr den geneigten Krimi Connoisseur: Der Sekret\u00e4r hat den Namen <em><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ed_McBain\" target=\"_blank\">Sal Lombino<\/a><\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Und hier schlie\u00dft sich der Kreis von Nick Cave zu Milton:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>What if the breath that kindl\u2019d those grim fires<\/em><br><em>Awak\u2019d should blow them into sevenfold rage<\/em><br><em>And plunge us in the flames? or from above<\/em><br><em>Should intermitted vengeance arm again<\/em><br><em>His red right hand to plague us?<\/em><br>(John Milton &#8211; Paradise Lost)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ein wirkliches flottes Buch, absolut \u00fcberzeugend. Jede Menge Kopfkino (und definitiv eine Verfilmung wert). Jede Menge kleine Schmunzelspuren. Leider hat sein Verlag in den US of A nicht so gesehen &#8230; es gibt bisher kein neues Buch. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Schade.
